1. Download the Google app
If you have an Android smartphone, you can skip to the next step. If you have an iPhone, however, download and install the Google app on your device if you haven’t already. Download Google for Android (Free)
Download Google for iPhone (Free)
2. Start a scan with Google Lens
Open the Google app on your device, and from the main app page, tap the Google Lens icon displayed in the search box.
Your smartphone camera opens. Two options are then possible. You can either navigate through your smartphone’s camera roll to select an image and submit it to Google Lens, or directly capture a photo of an object near you by pressing the magnifying glass button.

3. Extract text from image
In principle, Google Lens automatically detects when text has been found in an image. Then press the Select All button to select all of the text, or use your finger to get a fine-tuned selection of the text to extract, as you usually do to select text in a message, email, etc.
Once your text is selected, press the Copy Text button.

4. Paste the text
Then open any application that allows you to edit text and simply paste the contents of your smartphone’s clipboard.

You can now take full advantage of the text that was displayed on the image or object submitted to Google Lens and use it however you want.
