Available on September 19, the new version of the mobile operating system can however already be installed. To do this, simply register for Apple’s public beta program. We explain how to do it.
It was the big forgotten of the last keynote. iOS 11 will however equip the new iPhone 8 and X, but also the old models up to the iPhone 5s. The same goes for the iPads, which for their part see their interface modified much more in depth. To benefit from all these new features, it will be necessary to wait until September 19, date of deployment of the update by Apple on all the devices concerned. However, there is a solution to take advantage of it right away.
Indeed, Apple offers any user to register for its public beta program. If it can be painful, even risky, with the very first beta, it is much less a few days before the release of the final version. Thus, it is the now famous Golden Master version which is now distributed to those who are enrolled in the program. A good way to install iOS 11 before everyone else.
Enroll your device in the beta program
To do this, you must first go from your iPhone or iPad on the dedicated page of the Apple website and sign in with their Apple ID, usually the same one you use to sign in to the App Store. Once this step has been completed, click on “register your iOS device” in the paragraph entitled “Start”.

There a new page opens and details three steps that you just need to follow. The first is to make a backup with iTunes and archive it on your computer. A very useful initiative when installing the first betas which can be unstable. For the Golden Master, there is much less risk, but we still advise you to do so in case you need to restore iOS 10.

Install the profile to access the beta
Then install the profile that will allow your device to be recognized by Apple’s beta update servers. Click on the button “Download the profile” then quietly follow the steps while clicking “Authorize” on the first dialog box, then on “iPhone” on the second. A page is then displayed with the logo representing gears which illustrates the Settings application, click on “Install” at the top right. Do the same on the next page titled “Consent”, then click “Restart” on the last dialog box.

Once your device has restarted, then just follow the usual procedure of an iOS update by going to Settings> General> Software update. After a download (about 1.8 GB on our iPhone 7 Plus test) and a final restart, your device is now running iOS 11. What to enjoy right away, or even show off a little to your friends. At least until September 19.
