A new Pokémon game has just been unveiled. For now only available in Australia, here is how to install it now on Android.
The Pokémon Company has just unveiled a new mobile game featuring its creatures. Originally known as PokéLand, this new title, developed by the Japanese studio Ambrella, is finally called Pokémon Rumble Rush in our latitudes.
Directly inspired by the game Pokémon Rumble, released in 2009 for the Wii, Pokémon Rumble Rush invites you to play as a trainer roaming uncharted islands and launch attacks against Pokémon encountered along the way in order to expand your collection. The game adopts gameplay perfectly suited to touch-sensitive interfaces: your Pokémon move forward on their own, and a slap on an enemy Pokémon is enough to launch an attack.
For now, the game is only available on Android and only in Australia. An iOS version should, however, emerge fairly quickly. Until the title is officially available in France, it is already possible to play it on Android.
1. Allow unknown sources
If you have installed non-Play Store apps before, downloading them from your mobile web browser, skip to the next step.
However, if you are installing an APK file for the first time, you will need to enable certain permissions on your device. For security reasons, Android prohibits by default from installing applications other than those offered on the Play Store.
However, it is possible to override and install APK files from other sources by allowing unknown sources. However, this function should be used sparingly. Always make sure to download your APK files from safe sources, some unscrupulous download platforms sometimes offer modified and corrupted versions.
To allow unknown sources, open Android Settings, then in the Apps and notifications menu, expand Advanced Options.
Enter Apps: special access, and go to the Install unknown apps menu. Select your web browser (Chrome by default), and choose to Allow this source.
2. Download the APK
Open your Android smartphone’s web browser and download the game installation file in APK format.
Run the file to start the game installation. On first launch, Pokémon Rumble Rush should download additional data before launching the game.
