The iOS update now allows you to lock the most sensitive notes by setting a protection code.
Keeping important data in Notes on your iPhone or iPad has become commonplace for a large number of users. The iOS note-taking app can be used to jot down ideas, but also more personal data like passwords or even scanned documents.
To ensure that no one can access your most valuable notes, it is possible to lock them by applying a protective password. iOS does not allow you to completely lock access to the application, but offers to configure a protection password, which must then be applied individually to each note you want to protect.
1. Set a password
Go to iOS Settings, then Notes. Enter the Password menu in the Preview section. Define your password, confirm it, and indicate if you wish, a clue to find it if necessary. Keep in mind that if you forget the protection password, access to protected notes will be impossible. However, you can limit this risk by enabling the use of Touch ID.

2. Protect your notes
Close iOS settings and launch the Notes app to open an already existing note or create a new one. Tap the share button at the top right, then in the toolbar, scroll through the options and choose Lock Note. Enter your password to activate the function.

However, the note is not yet protected. To prevent it from being accessible without entering a code or using Touch ID, tap the padlock icon at the top right of the note. Remember, after unlocking access to a note, to reactivate the protection by pressing the padlock again.

Notes protected by a code appear in the list, preceded by a padlock.
