Does your PC make a whirr worthy of an airplane? The cause may lie in the hard drive. In this case, there is a solution.
When a computer’s hard drive is working, it generates significant vibrations that can be transmitted throughout the PC case. Fortunately, more and more case builders are shipping silicone pads that replace traditional metal mounting rails. We strongly recommend that you use them to limit vibrations and prevent the emission of very unpleasant noise. To install them:
- Position the pad on the edge of the hard drive, paying attention to the direction, and line up the openings with the screw holes.

- Use thumb screws to secure the pad to the hard drive and do not over tighten.
- Repeat with the second pad and the other slice of the hard drive.
- Insert the disc into the slot provided for this purpose in the PC case.
