Generate documents in PDF format from any web page, using your browser.
Are you looking for a simple and efficient way to save important content on the web? Whether you are looking to keep a listing of a vacation rental, keep track of an order summary, or just archive an important article, your web browser may already be able to do it for you.
This is, for example, the case with Google Chrome and Firefox (under Window 10 only for the latter). These two web browsers natively integrate a functionality allowing to generate, in a few clicks, a PDF version of the page you are viewing.
This functionality is an integral part of the print module of browsers. Here’s how to use it.
1. Download Google Chrome or Firefox
If you haven’t already, download and install Google Chrome on your computer. Google’s web browser integrates a native function which makes it very easy to generate a PDF file from any web page.

2. Print the page
Then go to the web page you want to save as PDF. Whether you are using Chrome or Firefox, click the main menu button and click Print, or use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + P to display the print window.
3. Change destination
In the Destination (on Chrome) or Printer name (on Firefox) line, the printer installed on your computer should be selected by default.
Click on the associated drop-down menu to display all the options, and select Save as PDF on Chrome, and Microsoft Print to PDF on Firefox.
Chrome displays a “print preview” pane that lets you see what the PDF file you are going to create will look like.
on Chrome, if you do not want to keep all the pages selected by the browser for creating the PDF, click on the All drop-down menu, in the Pages line, and choose Custom.
In the field that appears below, indicate the numbers of the pages you want to keep by entering the page numbers, as suggested.
You will find the page numbers at the bottom right of each page visible in the preview and can zoom in on them by displaying the zoom + and – buttons, visible at the bottom right of the browser, when hovering the mouse.
On Firefox, in the Print area part, check Pages, and indicate the page numbers you want to keep.
4. Save the file
Once all your parameters are defined, validate the creation of the PDF by clicking on Save or on OK.
A Windows File Explorer window opens. Navigate to the backup directory of your choice and validate by clicking on Save.
