The new function of the Android Messages app allows you to create a connection with your computer. Here is how to use it.
As good as it is, a virtual keyboard doesn’t offer the same convenience as a good-sized keyboard. How about typing them on your computer? This is what the Android Messages app offers.
So start by downloading it to your Android smartphone. Then install it and agree to use it as the default SMS app.

- Android Messages will then offer you to use the computer for sending and receiving SMS. If not, tap on the menu icon at the top right of the screen (three small vertical dots) and select Messages for the web.

- On your computer (Mac or PC), launch the browser and go to the site https://messages.android.com. A QR Code appears on the screen. Click on the switch Remember this computer to register the association.

- On the app, tap Scan the QR code and allow access to the camera.

Once the code has been scanned, the function is operational but you must leave your smartphone on or on standby. You can now type SMS messages on your computer.
You have buttons to insert emojis or stickers (stickers). Click on the SMS button to send your message.

The conversation is also synced to your smartphone so you can resume it when you are away from your computer.

And if you want to break the association, select Messages for the web in the app menu and tap on the cross to the right of the computer. If you want to remove all associations, tap Disconnect all computers.
