Ditch your web host’s webmail and manage your emails efficiently by setting up your work email address directly in Gmail.
If you use Gmail for personal use on a daily basis, managing as an entrepreneur the messages received to your work email address from the webmail attached to your own domain name can quickly become frustrating. The online messaging services offered by web hosts are often very limited in terms of functionality and not suited to the needs of entrepreneurs, forcing you to outsource the management of emails to a third-party email client.
Dedicated software, like Outlook or Thunderbird, can of course be used, but these solutions are much less flexible than services like Gmail. Never mind, Google messaging is full of resources and can also take care of managing your professional email address.
Once configured, you will be able to send and receive emails using your work address directly from the Gmail interface.
1. Create a Gmail account
It is entirely possible to link your work email address to your existing email address. However, it is preferable to create a Gmail address that will be entirely dedicated to managing your business email.
Go to Gmail to create a new account whose email address can take, if you wish, the format yourdomainname@gmail.com
2. Add an account
From the main page of your Gmail account, click on the cogwheel icon at the top right to access the Settings of your box.

Then go to the Accounts and import section. In the Send emails as section, click Add another email address.

In the window that opens as a pop-up, enter your name and address which will appear on the email you will send, keep the Treat as an alias box checked and click Next step.

3. Configure the SMTP server
In principle, when you created your professional address with your web host, they provided you with a certain amount of information intended to configure your mailbox.
Enter the address of the SMTP Server as well as the Port used by your host, enter your username (generally your complete address in the format myname@myomain.com), as well as your password for connecting to this same box. Confirm your account configuration by clicking on the Add an account button.

4. Confirm your email address
In principle, Google should send a confirmation code to your business address.
Connect to the webmail of your domain name and click on the validation link or copy the code indicated to paste it in the Gmail validation window and press Validate.

5. Use your default business address
Go back to the Accounts and import settings, in the Send emails as section, in the line dedicated to your work email address, click on use by default.

Now, in addition to receiving all your business messages on Gmail, all new messages you write from your account can be sent using your business email address.
