This shooting technique is frequently used to capture for example waterfalls, rivers, waterfalls, car (at night), etc.
And the Live Photo mode of the iPhone lends itself perfectly to this. This shooting mode, integrated into the iPhone since the iPhone 6S, takes care of capturing a classic photo while at the same time recording 1.5 seconds of video of what happens before and after capturing the image. .
iOS offers several, relatively unknown, options for making full use of Live Photos, including one for converting a Live Photo into a long exposure photo.

1. Capture a Live Photo
Open the Camera app on your iPhone and make sure Live Photo is properly enabled. The dedicated button, displayed at the top of the interface, should appear in yellow.
When this condition is met, position your iPhone to take the shot and make sure you do not move. Then capture your photo by pressing the shutter button as you usually do.

2. Add an effect
Now that your Live Photo is captured, open the Photos app and view the image you just captured.

To add a long exposure effect to your Live Photo, swipe your screen upwards with your finger, drag the proposed effects and select Long exposure.

The effect should then be applied automatically to your photo.
