Put an end to too many sound notifications received on your Windows 10 PC in just a few clicks.
A new email arrived in your inbox, a new message in the Facebook tab of Google Chrome, a completed download, these are all reasons that can cause an audible notification to sound on your PC.
With the November 2019 update to Windows 10, Microsoft has revised and fixed its notification system by adding the ability to manage sound notifications which often sound when you need to stay focused. You have two options: turn off all sound notifications, or restrict them to certain applications only.
1. Open Windows settings
Click on the Start menu to access Windows Settings.

Enter the System settings and go to the section dedicated to Notifications and actions

2. Turn off the sound of notifications
In the list of options displayed in the Notifications and actions settings, uncheck the Allow notifications to play sound line.

Once this option is unchecked, no notification, regardless of the application that emits it, will be able to make noise on your PC.
3. Turn off notifications on a case-by-case basis
If the previous step seems a little too radical to you, it is possible to proceed on a case-by-case basis, by cutting the whistle of the notifications emitted by specific applications.
To do this, from the Notification and actions settings panel, scroll through the options and then, in the Get notifications from these senders section, click on the item you want to gag to display the detailed settings.

Then uncheck the Play a sound when receiving a notification option

Now, with each new notification sent by this specific application, no audible alert will be heard. Repeat the operation for all the applications you want to silence.
