Sort through the applications on your PC by uninstalling Microsoft’s web browser if you are not using it.
Google Chrome Chromium version is now installed automatically on Windows 10, via operating system updates. If some users had already manually installed the new Microsoft Edge on their own, others are forced to accept a new web browser on their machine.
Let’s be clear, Edge Chromium version has nothing to do with its predecessor. The browser is faster and more efficient, and sports an interface similar to what exists on Chrome. This revival has also allowed Microsoft’s web browser to overtake Firefox in a few months. And the adoption of the Chromium rendering engine is undoubtedly not unrelated to it.
For Windows users who use a different browser, however, the forced arrival of Edge on their machine may be unnecessary. If Microsoft tries to impose Edge in Windows at all costs, it is fortunately possible to get rid of it. The handling to follow, however, will depend on how Edge has been installed on your machine.
1. Uninstall Edge from Settings
If you installed Edge yourself by downloading the installer file from Microsoft’s website, you can uninstall it from the Windows Settings panel.
Click on the Start menu, enter Settings, and go to the section dedicated to Applications.

In the Apps & Features tab (selected by default), scroll through the installed apps until you find Edge, or search directly for Edge in the field provided. Then click on Edge and then on the Uninstall button to remove the web browser from your machine.

If no Uninstall button is offered from this window, go to the next step.
2. Uninstall Edge from Command Prompt
If you have not manually installed Edge (Chromium) on your machine, but the new version of Microsoft’s web browser has been installed since Windows Update updates, you will need to uninstall it through the Windows 10 commands.
To do this, click on the Start menu and search for Command Prompt. Right click on the program and choose to run it as administrator.

Then enter the following command line and validate by pressing Enter:
cd% PROGRAMFILES (X86)% Microsoft Edge Application 8 * Installer

This command line should open the installation directory for the version of Edge present on your machine.
To delete Edge, type the following command line and validate by pressing the Enter key:
setup –uninstall –force-uninstall –system-level

Microsoft Edge Chromium version should now be uninstalled from your computer. Instead, you should find Edge in its old form.
