Facebook instant messaging can be used by anyone, even without having a social network profile.
More and more Facebook users are thinking about deleting their accounts, but don’t do so for a reason: to be able to stay in touch, especially via Messenger, with their friends. Others would like to be able to be in contact with their loved ones but refuse to create an account on the social network. However, since 2015, Messenger instant messaging can be used by anyone, without having to have a profile on Facebook.
Instead, Messenger will ask you to create an account using your phone number, something that many people will refuse to offer to Facebook. This fear is legitimate, but tell yourself that the social network did not wait for you to get your 06: if you use WhatsApp, owned by Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg’s firm already has your number. And if you have loved ones registered on Facebook, there’s a good chance they’ve, intentionally or not, synced their address book (with your name, number, and maybe even your photo) with the application.
1. Download Messenger
If you’ve never used the app, download it to your smartphone first. Available on Android and iOS, Messenger will allow you to send individual or group messages to your loved ones, but also to phone them, video call them or even exchange files.

2. Create an account
Open the Messenger app on your smartphone and press the Create Account button.
Messenger displays an alert and indicates that the app needs to access your phone number for faster setup. Tap Later, enter your phone number in the field provided and click Next. You can also press Continue to immediately allow Messenger to access your phone function and number.

Then choose a password and press the Next button. Enter your first and last name and confirm by pressing Next. Confirm the creation of the account by pressing Create an account. No Facebook profile will be created.

3. Confirm the creation of the account
In principle, an SMS containing a confirmation code has been sent to your smartphone. Enter the code received by SMS.
Messenger may attempt to associate your Messenger account with Facebook profiles identified as potentially yours. Tap This is not my account.

You will then be invited to add (if you wish only) your photo, as well as to find your phone contacts on Messenger.

If this option can be practical to easily find your contacts, it will import all your contacts on Facebook. We recommend that you press Later to decline the streaming import of your address book. Messenger will play the force by displaying an alert window asking you to confirm that you do not want to import your contacts. Press OK.
4. Add contacts
Now that you are connected to Messenger, all you have to do is find your contacts. Tap the two character icon at the bottom of the interface to access your Messenger contacts. In the search box, enter the name of a contact you want to chat with and tap their name to start a conversation.

He will not receive a notification of your invitation, but will be able to access your message from the Messenger Invitation module on his Facebook profile / Messenger account. Once the conversation is accepted, the contact will appear in your Messenger contacts list.
