Google is in the process of deploying a function to use Google Maps in Incognito mode. Already available on some Android devices, this feature will arrive later on iOS.
Announced last month, the functionality to use Google Maps in incognito mode is being rolled out, in a trickle, by Google. Some users of Google Maps on Android can already activate it to use the application without any of their searches being saved or kept.
Available initially only on Android smartphones, private navigation within Google Maps should also be available on iOS a little later, the official date of its availability not being known for the time being.
To activate this function, open Google Maps and tap on your profile picture at the top right, in the search box, and choose to Activate incognito mode.

The application should then close and restart immediately, displaying an alert informing that Incognito mode is activated.

Once in place, private browsing in Google Maps prevents the app from saving and keeping your browsing or search history in your Google Account.
Your position history is not updated and you will not be able to share your position with a third party. Finally, the application interface displays a black banner at the top of the screen and abandons the blue geolocation point in favor of a black point as well.
