Huawei recently presented a number of new products in Berlin (check our video here), including the Watch 5 and Watch Fit 4 Pro (review). Huawei also introduced the FreeBuds 6, of which you can read the review below.

Design
The Huawei FreeBuds 6 are distinguished by their 3 cm long rounded drop shape and open-ear design, which ensures a comfortable fit. Compared to the previous model, they are more compact and the sling is refined for even better stability. Thanks to the open-ear design, the earbuds have no silicone tips, which means they feel softer and do not have to be placed deep in the ear canal. Instead, they rest comfortably in the earcup, without falling out quickly, which considerably increases the long-term wearing comfort.
With a weight of only 5 grams per ear plug and 40 grams including the charging box, they are extremely light. They are available in three stylish colors (purple, black and white) with a shiny finish and a chic matte, egg -shaped charging case. In addition, they offer IP54 protection, which makes it resistant to dust and splash water. The FreeBuds 6 are designed to deliver high audio quality, combined with intelligent sound and optimum comfort for long -term use.

Technology
The Huawei FreeBuds are compatible with both iOS and Android and have a Dual-Driver True Sound System. This system includes a dynamic driver that supplies a wide frequency range of 14 Hz – 48 kHz, for low basses as a clear high tones. These earbuds are the first to realize a loss-free transmission speed of 2.3 Mbps for Hi-Res Audio, provided they are used with the Huawei L2HC 4.0 Codec on compatible Huaweiphones. For other devices they support AAC, SBC and LDAC (HI-res), which offers a versatile sound quality. Thanks to Bluetooth 5.2, the FreeBuds can connect to two devices at the same time with a range of 10 meters. Each earplug contains three microphones and a bone conducting sensor, which ensures effective noise reduction during telephone calls.
Since it is an open-ear model, the noise reduction in music experience is limited. The operation is via the Huawei Audio app, with personalized gesture control through the head, and tick and sweeping movements on the stalks. Users can adjust the sound as desired via presets and an adjustable equalizer.

Practice
The sound is excellent for both music and speech. The basses are subtle but sufficiently present. In terms of battery life, the earbuds offer 4 to 6 hours of playback time (depending on ANC on/off), and in combination with the charging box, the total listening time increases to 36 hours. The fast -charging function ensures that 5 minutes of charging is already good for 2.5 hours of music.

Conclusion
The Huawei FreeBuds 6 have an elegant premium look. They deliver excellent sound quality and give priority to wearing comfort, making the noise reduction less effective in music than with traditional in-ear models.
