Hurtan has released more images of his quirky Grand Albaycín, a converted Mazda MX-5 with a very distinctive design.
Last week Techzle was able to show you the first images of the Hurtan Grand Albaycín. The successor to the previous model presented in 2008 is based on the current MX-5. You don’t have to be an expert to see that two-seater reflected in the voluptuous bodywork of the Grand Albaycín.
Viewed both from the front and from the rear, the Hurtan Grand Albaycín seems to have been driven away from the 1950s, but if you look at it from the side, you really come to a different conclusion. Somewhat uncomfortably caught between the voluptuous fenders is the windshield and the door of the current MX-5. The added body panels give the Grand Albaycín a considerable overhang, especially at the rear. Hurtan has also given the interior a classic treatment. The whole is finished with beige-colored quilted leather and large plastic parts that are normally made of black plastic, are executed in green by Hurtan.
The Hurtan is available with the 132 hp 1.5 and with the 2.0 petrol engines of 184 hp that are known from the MX-5. The Grand Albaycín also comes on the market with a steel folding roof in the style of the MX-5 RF. Hurtan will show the first photos of that version at a later stage.
The international starting price is set at € 59,000. That amount is for the 132 hp convertible. Prefer the Cabrio with the more powerful 2.0? Then you will have lost at least € 63,200. For the yet to be presented Grand Albaycín Targa, the versions with 132 hp and 184 hp will cost you € 72,000 and € 76,200 successively.
