Hyundai makes one of the very best electric cars of the moment: the Ioniq 5. But for some reason the Korean brand has also made a sport of electrifying classic models, such as the Hyundai Pony Heritage in April. This Hyundai Grandeur Heritage is based on the manufacturer’s first luxury limousine, the Grandeur from 1986.
Hyundai is celebrating the Grandeur’s thirty-fifth anniversary with this electric variant. The brand does not say anything about the powertrain, but we assume that Kona Electric or Ioniq 5 technology is under the classic hood. From the outside, the Hyundai Grandeur Heritage can be recognized by its new grille, its beautiful wheels, and its pixelated headlights and taillights.
Hyundai Grandeur Heritage with retro-futuristic interior
The interior of the Grandeur Heritage is retro-futuristic, with an elongated display – which serves as a digital cockpit and infotainment screen – and a digital center console. The upholstery of the seats has a velvety feel and is 80s brown. The bronze-coloured ceiling lighting in the back is also beautiful, which seems to extend far into the distance thanks to the use of mirrors.
