Watch out led
The Hyundai i10 runs in its current form for three years and that means that the Koreans have long and broadly thought about a facelift of the smallest model in Europe. Today we see the first piece of evidence in the form of a test sample dressed in a camouflage suit.
The segment in which the Hyundai i10 and sister model Kia Picanto operate is slowly but surely thinning out. Toyota came up with a new Aygo (X), but Peugeot and Citroën have successively hung the 108 and the C1 on the car willows. The Volkswagen Up is still for sale, but that car is now more than ten years old and will not receive a direct successor. Hyundai is now testing a facelifted i10. That model appeared in its current form on the European market in 2019.
It is no surprise that the Hyundai i10 will soon receive a facelift. The current generation of technical brother Kia Picanto appeared on the market earlier than the current i10 and therefore went under the knife earlier. Just like the Picanto renewed two years ago, the Hyundai i10 also undergoes various external changes. For example, Hyundai adapts in any case the LED daytime running lights placed in the grille. The seven LED dots housed in a circle are replaced by four new LED segments. The current i10 with N-line optic has different LED daytime running lights than the regular variants and it is not clear which version we see here. The bumper work is still fanatically in the camouflage patches on both the front and rear, just like the grille, so we don’t dare to say what will change here.
Undoubtedly, Hyundai will make some changes to the interior of the i10. We expect the revised Hyundai i10 on the Dutch market next year.
In the Netherlands, the Kia Picanto is significantly better than the i10. Last year Kia sold almost 8,000 copies of the Picanto, the sales counter of the i10 ended at about 2,900 units. Up to and including August, Kia has already sold a small 4,600 Picantos this year, compared to more than 2,600 units for the i10.
