Hyundai Santa Fe XRT Concept: angular SUV even rougher

The angular shapes of the new Hyundai Santa Fe give the SUV – whether you find it beautiful or less successful – a tough appearance. Don’t you think the Santa Fe is rough enough? Don’t worry, Hyundai seems to be able to do something about that.

Less than a month ago, Hyundai presented the brand new Hyundai Santa Fe. The new model breaks enormously with the outgoing model, especially in terms of design. The only things with rounded shapes that you will encounter on the new are the wheels and the steering wheel. Furthermore, each line seems to be set with a ruler. The new Santa Fe is also coming to the Netherlands, although the specifications and prices for our country are not yet known. Hyundai now presents the new Santa Fe as an XRT Concept. It is quite packed with things that you may encounter later in the accessory guide.

Just like SUVs like the Land Rover Defender, the new Santa Fe also seems to be available with an extensive set of external extras. On this Hyundai XRT Concept – of which we are only presented with one image – we see storage bins around the rear side windows, a ladder on the back that reminds us with some melancholy of off-roaders of yesteryear and the Daihatsu Move and a large roof rack with the spare wheel on it. In addition, the Santa Fe XRT Concept stands on apparently capable off-road rubber.

Here you can read more about the powertrains that Hyundai hangs in the Santa Fe. Among other things, a hybrid and a plug-in hybrid machine will be available. Hyundai promises, among other things, the arrival of a Calligraphy version for people with – yes – one premium urban lifestyle. Fun fact about the new Santa Fe: Hyundai says the design of the new model started with the tailgate. That had to and would be a huge copy for the most spacious possible access to the luggage compartment.
