I would like more information about the types of quarks, and about their specific properties and a definition of the property called spin (direction of rotation?)

Answer

Have a look at the following wikipedia page: http://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quark. The requested information is there.

Spin is a quantum mechanical property that describes the intrinsic torque. This is often compared to a rotation around its own axis, but actually this is not correct: there is no real analogue in the classical world and only occurs in quantum mechanics. A definition in human language is therefore quite difficult to give. So it is simply an intrinsic torque without any rotation being involved.
