In the wild: Citroën C-Elysee (2017)

Today on the shelves of In het Wild: a Citroën that does not belong in the Netherlands at all. We would like to thank Techzle reader Paul Wouters very much for his photos of a Citroën C-Elysée!

Citroën has an interesting range of models not only in Europe, but especially beyond. Take the Chinese car market, where the Dongfeng-Citroen partnership sells no less than five different sedans. For example, the brand has the C4L on the menu, a sedan version of the last generation C4. In addition, there is the C4 Sedan, a former C-Quattre called sedan that shares its base with the first generation C4. Citroen also sells a facelifted version of the last C5 and at the top of the sedan ladder is the C6, a car that unfortunately is not a real C6. After all, it is a Fengshen A9 with its own carriage, a car that is on an extended bottom plate of the last C5. The sixth and last model is the C-Elysée, one of the better-known Citroëns with excellent butt, which is not sold here.

The C-Elysée, which is indeed sold in various European countries, is a 4.44-meter sedan that shares its technical basis with the Peugeot brother, the 301, presented almost simultaneously at the same time in 2012. The C-Elysée and the Peugeot 301 like cars like the previous generation 208 are on the PF1 platform, so it is no wonder that we come across well-known technology. The C-Elysée, which is produced for the European market in Spanish Vigo, which can be seen here with Dutch plates, dates from 2017 and first crossed the Dutch borders two years later. Under the hood a very well-known machine: the 82 hp 1.2 Puretech three-burner which was and is supplied in many other models of Groupe PSA. It is therefore a copy of the facelift that was implemented in 2016.
