You shouldn’t be in a hurry

When you get into this Renault 9, you go back in time. Not only because of the model, but also because of its condition. Just don’t be in a hurry.
The Renault 9 is a solid representative of the category ‘once common, but now almost extinct cars’. Let’s be honest; how often do you see that? We have had exactly one in our ‘In the Wild’ section, its hatchback brother Renault 11 quite often. Last year there was another one from 1987. Now it focuses on an R9 that was registered a year later, in the last year that the 9 was offered in the Netherlands.
This copy should yield €2,999 and we understand that asking price. After all, a Renault 9 is no longer offered that often and this is an apparently quite fresh example. Only 128,000 km are on the odometer of the somewhat business-colored sedan. As is often the case with such old cars with low odometer readings and an automatic gearbox, we suspect that this car belonged to someone of a respectable age for a long time. From new until 2012 he was with one owner. It then went to its second owner, who gave it up at the beginning of this month.
A quiet life, also in a literal sense. As mentioned, it is an R9 with automatic transmission and, in combination with the 68 hp 1.4, it makes it a car with which you can always take it easy. No problem at all, just put a nice tape in the cassette player on a beautiful sunny spring day and start bouncing along. After all, you buy such an R9 if you are an enthusiast and like to take it for a leisurely tour every now and then. You probably don’t have to worry about major technical defects and, as far as we know, the 9 has never had a problem with the MOT. Wow!
