ING customers can now keep track of their finances with the app even more easily. The bank has finally added notifications for credits and debits to the ING app. This is how you set them up.
ING app: notifications for credits and debits
ING’s Banking app is very user-friendly in many areas, thanks to, for example, Face ID and Siri support and payment requests via iMessage. Yet for a long time, a simple function was missing, which can be found in the banking apps of Rabobank, ABN Amro and bunq for quite some time.
The bank has finally changed that, because users of the ING app can now set notifications for credits and debits. This makes it easier for you to keep track of your balance and payment transactions, without having to open the app.
In addition to notifications when money is withdrawn or credited from your account, it is also possible to set an alert when the balance of your account reaches a certain minimum. This way you are less likely to have a piece of month left at the end of your money. It has been possible for some time to receive notifications if someone has paid your payment request.
This is how you set up notifications in the ING app
Once you install the update and open the app, a pop-up notification will appear about the new feature. From here you can set the notifications immediately, but you can also do this later via the settings of the app.
You can turn on the three new notifications in the settings for push notifications. You determine the amount for each notification. For example, you can indicate that you will only receive notifications if more than 50 euros are debited, or more than 100 euros are credited. This works the same for a minimum balance. If your balance falls below the set amount, you will receive a warning.
The update has now reached the first users and is slowly being rolled out. So it may take a while before you can get started with the new function. It is not known how long it will take ING to roll out the update to all users.
