The portfolio of electric cars from Mercedes-Benz must be expanded considerably within a short time. After the EQC follow the more compact EQB and EQA. According to rumors, however, the latter will take a while.
At the world premiere of the Mercedes-Benz GLA, Mercedes showed a glimpse of the all-electric EQA. Not surprising, since the EQA will be the electric variant of the GLA. That EQA should be presented before the turn of the year. In addition, the first copies should even be available before the start of the new year. The English Autocar writes that the EQA is taking longer to arrive due to the corona crisis.
In addition to the pandemic, its bigger brother, the EQB, also throws a spanner in the works. Mercedes would have quite a few problems finding the right production place for that EQB. This would be built in the same French factory as the Smart ForTwo and ForFour. However, Mercedes-Benz is looking for a buyer for that production facility. Mercedes therefore seems to have no choice but to sacrifice production sites in Rastatt, Germany for the EQB. You guessed it, at the expense of the EQA. We are still awaiting a response from Mercedes-Benz to the latest rumors.
