The new version of the iPhone operating system has a new accessibility feature. It allows you to configure an action by tapping the back of the device several times.
At the end of June, Apple introduced the new version of the iPhone operating system to the world at WWDC, its annual developer conference. Rather generous in terms of new features, iOS 14 is now officially available to all users from the iPhone 6s.
Among the novelties of the mobile OS, an accessibility option inaugurates new gestures capable of launching rapid actions through tapping on the back of the device. Here’s how to take advantage of it.
1. Enter accessibility options
Open iOS Settings and go to the Accessibility menu. Under the heading Physics and motor skills, then enter the Touch menu.
2. Activate the Touch the back of the device option
Scroll through all the options displayed in the menu. At the bottom of the list, enter the Touching the back of the device section.
Two options are available: Double tap and Triple tap. Enter each one in turn and choose the action that will be associated with it. You can, for example, choose to increase or decrease the volume, take a quick screenshot, open the control center, etc.
When the two actions are configured, you will then only have to perform the gesture, Tap 2 or 3 times on the back of the iPhone, so that the latter performs the defined action.
