Apple is testing iOS 18.0.1 for the iPhone – here’s when you can expect the update and what bugs it fixes.
iOS 18.0.1 is almost coming to your iPhone
Since iOS 18 was released earlier this month, some notable bugs have come to light. There is a problem in the app To inform. This issue causes the app to crash repeatedly and possibly lose data. In addition, there are people who report problems with the touchscreen after installing iOS 18. Their taps, swipes and other movements are regularly ignored. Furthermore, Apple has withdrawn iPadOS 18 for the M4 iPad Pro after users reported that their devices were freezing. Apple halted the rollout of the update last week and has not yet re-released it. The company has confirmed to engineers that a fix is being worked on, but did not specify a timeframe. iPadOS 18.0.1 will likely be released at the same time as iOS 18.0.1.
iOS 18.1 will take some time
iOS 18.0.1 mainly focuses on the aforementioned bug fixes and other improvements on your iPhone. It is not yet certain when the update will appear, but it is expected to be at the end of week 40 at the latest.
In addition to iOS 18.0.1, Apple is also working on iOS 18.1. That update contains the first Apple Intelligence features, so expectations are high. Apple has now confirmed that iOS 18.1 will be released sometime in October.
It is still not clear whether we in the EU will be able to use the Apple Intelligence features in iOS 18.1 when the update is released. Apple has been negotiating with the EU for some time to make this possible. However, in the meantime, no more news has appeared about it.
