Both the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus will receive the upgraded version of the A15 chip. But how much better is this chip exactly?
iPhone 14 (Plus) gets improved A15 chip
According to a rumor from the Wall Street Journal, the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus will receive an improved A15 chip. This is the same chip series that is also in the iPhone 13. In fact, the iPhone 14 (Plus) gets the same A15 chip as the iPhone 13 Pro. This chip has five graphics cores and is 25 percent faster than the A15 that is in the standard iPhone 13.
The speed gain that you will get with this chip is only in the graphic possibilities of the iPhone 14 (Plus). The chip also has the same specifications as those in the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro.
iPhone 14 Pro (Max) gets A16 chip
Ming-Chi Kuo said in March of this year that only the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max will receive the new A16 chip. This is the first time that only the Pro models will get the latest chip during the release of a new iPhone. This will therefore provide more differentiation between the iPhone models.
iPhone 14: what to expect
On September 7, the time has finally come. Apple will then release the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. Especially the Pro models get a few cool new features, such as an always-on display. In addition, the notch (the black notch at the top of the screen) disappears and is replaced by two holes. The iPhone 14 Pro also gets the brand new A16 chip (and not the A15 chip, like the iPhone 14 Plus).
