iPhone 16 Pro (Max) camera: we already know this

We still have to wait a while for the next iPhone, but we already know more about the camera of the iPhone 16 Pro (Max). This is what you can expect!

iPhone 16 Pro (Max) camera: we already know this

This year the iPhone 15 Pro Max has the best camera. Unfortunately, the iPhone 15 Pro’s camera didn’t get all the new features. For example, the iPhone 15 Pro Max has a 5x zoom, but the iPhone 15 Pro can only zoom in 3 times.

The camera of the iPhone 15 Pro Max is therefore a bit better than that of the Pro. This is due to the new design (under the hood) of the camera system in the iPhone 15 Pro Max. Apple calls it a ‘tetraprism’.

The lack of this tetraprism is a shame for current iPhone 15 Pro owners, but according to usually reliable Apple expert Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple will do something different with the next iPhone. According to him, both the iPhone 16 Pro and the iPhone 16 Pro Max will have a camera with the tetraprism.

This means that both Pro models will soon be able to zoom in 5x optically. The iPhone 15 Pro did not receive this technology this year due to (rumored) space limitations. But according to Kuo, there were also problems with production. According to the Apple expert, this has now become a lot less.

In addition, according to rumors, Apple plans to make the iPhone 16 Pro slightly larger, from 6.1 inches to 6.3 inches. This would mean that there is more space for the new camera.

It is not yet known whether Apple will further improve the tetraprism lens in 2024. There are rumors about a kind of ‘super zoom’, but you have to take those rumors with a grain of salt.
