Is there a cure for androgenitic alopecia in the form of lotion, medicines or stem cell therapy?
Answer
Best,
Androgenetic alopecia is the most common form of hair loss that affects about 30 to 40% of men and women.
There are various treatments for this condition. Minoxidil in 2% or 5% solution is best known and can be applied topically. The 5% solution works best, but also causes more skin irritation. Orally one can use Finasteride 1 mg/day to counteract alopecia. It would be more effective than 2% minoxidil. Other drugs that can be used are dutasteride and spironolactone (in women).
What else do you need to know: as long as you take minoxidil it will work, but once you stop the “gained” hair will be lost. Use minoxidil 2x/day for 4 months, massage is not necessary. Combination of minoxidil and finasteride is possible.
There is (yet) no stem cell therapy for androgenetic alopecia. Surgery with hair or skin transplant is possible.
