Panic! Your iPhone gets stuck on the Apple logo during startup and is unresponsive to anything. Stay calm, because with these tips you will quickly get it back up and running.
When your iPhone gets stuck on Apple logo
Is your iPhone stuck on Apple logo during startup? Then the aircraft is in a so-called boat loop. The device reboots continuously without getting past the Apple logo. At this point it closes itself off again, after which the tune starts again.
Solution 1: Reset
The first solution is simple: try to force restart your device. Forced start of the iPhone 8 and newer devices works as follows:
- Briefly press the volume up button;
- Briefly press the volume down button;
- Then press and hold the power button;
- Release the button when the Apple logo appears.
For the iPhone 7 it works slightly differently: press and hold the volume down button and the sleep button at the same time until the device restarts. If you have an iPhone 6s or older, press and hold the Sleep / Wake button and the Home button at the same time. Do not release both buttons until the Apple logo reappears.
Solution 2: Restore a backup
Does your iPhone get stuck in the bootloop? Then try to restore your iPhone from your PC or Mac. From macOS Catalina you use the Finder for this, previous versions can go to the old, trusted iTunes.
Connect your iPhone to your computer, short press the volume up button, then short press the volume down button. Then press and hold the power button until your device is in recovery mode. Once this option appears on your Mac screen, choose Update.
Solution 3: Drain the battery
During a bootloop, your device keeps shutting down and starting up automatically. As soon as the battery is empty, this process will come to an end anyway. If the forced reset did not help, it is therefore wise to simply be patient. Rebooting takes a lot of energy, so your iPhone will run out of battery in no time.
4. Solution 4: Go to Apple
Did the above solutions not help? Then there is no other option than to call in professional help. You should therefore register with the Apple customer service, or contact an authorized Apple Service Provider. These stores, such as Amac, are allowed to perform repairs on behalf of the iPhone maker.
