Pininfarina Battista Edizione Nino Farina

You might expect temporary and sporty versions of models that have been around for a while from volume brands, but Automobili Pininfarina proves that ‘electric hyper GTs’ with 1,900 hp and a degrading starting price also fit perfectly into the action box where you would rather expect Nissans Qashqai or Suzukis Swift .

The Pininfarina Battista is a crazy electric speed monster that is completely out of reach for the mere mortal. Revealed in 2019 by Automobili Pininfarina and based on the Rimac Nevera, the ‘hyper GT’ has a powertrain of over 1,900 hp and 2,340 Nm with which the flattened sprint cannon catapults itself from a standstill to a speed of 100 km/h in just 1.86 seconds. This makes the Battista the fastest sprinting street-legal production car ever. In less than 5 seconds you can speed across the road at 200 km / h and its top speed is an outlandish 350 km / h for an EV. There will be a total of 150 copies of the Battista, but it seems that the exotic is not exactly in great demand. Three years after the presentation of the model, Automobili Pininfarina comes with a special version to attract extra attention.

The special version is called Battista Edizione Nino Farina in full and is what the Italians call a design edition to call. It is already the second special flavor in which the Battista will be available and with that Automobili Pininfarina seems to be slowly but surely walking the path of Bugatti. After all, Bugatti introduced one after the other ‘unique version’ of the Veyron in order to wear out the model. There will be five copies of the Edizione Nino Farina. With the model, Automobili Pininfarina pays tribute to Nino Farina: the first ever F1 world champion and the nephew of Pininfarina founder Battiste ‘Pinin’ Farina. Each copy is in the appropriately named Rosso Nino color and is finished with white accents. The colossus stands on gold-colored wheels and each copy has a white ’01’ sticker on the side. In the interior of the rare exotic you will find a black leather-upholstered driver’s seat and a co-driver’s seat that is finished with beige leather. Incidentally, you will also find Alcantara and the necessary Nina Farina references in both seats.

Automobili Pininfarina does not report what it costs, but you can count on it that you have to dig very deep into your pockets.
