Jaguar Classic announces reborn E-Types

Next year, the Jaguar E-type will blow out no less than sixty candles. According to Jaguar Classic, a good time to honor the legendary model.

Jaguar’s classic division announces that it will be launching a new range of classic E-Types in March next year: the E-type 60 Collection. This party series consists of six duos that are a nod to the first copies of the E-Type launched by Jaguar. Sixty years ago, Jaguar came up with a closed E-type known as the ‘9600 HP’ because this combination featured on its license plate. The first open E-type had ’77 RW ‘as registration number. The restored duos from the new E-type 60 Collection are based, down to the smallest details, on these two primal examples.

The dense ‘9600 HP’ was driven from Coventry to Switzerland for introduction in 1961 so that a colorful group could get to know the new Jaguar in the Parc des Eaux Vives. The open British Racing Green-green ’77 RW ‘made its public debut in Geneva during the major auto show in March 1961. After the public admired the two E-types, both cars were still used as test cars for journalists.

In Warwickshire, UK, Jaguar Classic is now restoring existing 3.8-liter E-types. In addition to the fact that these will be copies of the ‘9600 HP’ coupe and ’77 RW ‘roadster, each copy will get 60 different logos.
