Jaguar puts forward a very intense study model on paper. We are introduced to the Vision GT Roadster, an open single-seater with a classic design and a no less than 1,020 hp electric powertrain.

Jaguar is about to change its entire model range. Apart from the I-Pace, no existing model seems to have a long life and direct successors to cars like the XE and XF do not seem to be in the barrel. While it could use a fleet of new models, Jaguar is now pulling the curtain on an all-electric single-seater. Has the brand lost all grip on reality? Well, the Vision GT Roadster we are talking about exists purely and only in digital form and will never appear in tangible form.

The Jaguar Vision GT Roadster is a car that the brand has specially designed for racing game Gran Turismo 7. The pixel-crack nose is the sequel to the Vision GT Coupé that the brand had devised in 2019 for the previous part of Gran Turismo. Because Jaguar has not been hindered by too many restrictions, it has of course gone wild again on paper. Like its dense digital brother, the Vision GT Roadster would have three electric motors, which together bring 1,020 hp and 1,200 Nm to the virtual asphalt.

The body of the Vision GT Roadster is said to be made of composites of carbon fiber and aluminum alloys, although it is in fact a car made up of only ones and zeros. The specifications are therefore quite absurd. The Vision GT Roadster should be able to reach a speed of 60 mph (97 km/h) in 1.65 seconds and will not stop accelerating until it reaches 410 km/h.

Of course, the Vision GT Roadster will not hit the market and the same goes for the Vision GT Coupé. Still, the new crazy virtual racer gives a nice picture of what Jaguar would make if it weren’t hampered by realism. Say for yourself: the creation does look special!
