This morning autoland was introduced to the renewed Jaguar XF. There is also news for its smaller XE brother. The competitor of cars like the BMW 3-series is introduced to new powertrains.
About a year and a half ago Jaguar put the XE presented in 2014 on the cutting table and even now the wind of innovation is blowing through the XE range, although the wind strength is not as impressive as in 2019. This time the novelties take place purely under the skin .
The Jaguar XE of the new model year will be available with mild-hybrid technology for the first time. As with the renewed XF, the new 204 hp and 430 Nm strong 2.0 four-cylinder diesel engine is the only engine version with mild hybrid technology. This machine helps the XE in a good 7 counts at a speed of 100 km / h. On the petrol list, again as with the XF, the 250 hp and 365 Nm strong P250 and the 300 hp and 400 Nm powerful P300. The new diesel engine, like the P250, always sends its power to the rear wheels, while the P300 has four-wheel drive as standard. All engine versions are linked to an eight-speed automatic transmission. With the 300 hp strong heart, the XE reaches 100 km / h in about 6 seconds.
The XE also benefits from the arrival of infotainment news. Since the facelift introduced last year, the XE already had a set of displays, including a digital instrumentation, a 10-inch large central screen and an optional 5.5-inch diameter underneath. From now on, Jaguar’s new Pivi Pro software will run on the screens. The digital instruments have been improved. Jaguar also gives the XE a new steering wheel. Like the XF, the XE also benefits from the arrival of Enhanced Cabin Air Ionisation.
We will hear later how the innovations of the XE work out for the Dutch market.
