Distinctiveness

The Jeep Avenger is available with a fully electric powertrain, as a mild hybrid and with petrol engines without electrical assistance. What do the three types of powertrains in the Avenger have in common? They always send their power to the front wheels. The Avenger will soon also be available with four-wheel drive.
Who says Jeep, says four-wheel drive. However, not every Jeep is by definition a four-wheel drive. The Compass was also available with front-wheel drive, as was the Renegade. The Avenger makes it very colorful. Until now, this has always been a front-wheel drive, but that is about to change. Jeep announces the arrival of the Avenger 4xe and it does have four-wheel drive.
The Jeep Renegade becomes the first compact crossover from Stellantis that is available with all-wheel drive. After all, the Peugeot 2008, Opel Mokka and DS 3 are not. There will be an electric four-wheel drive Alfa Romeo Milano, but Alfa has yet to present that small high car. Okay, back to the Avenger. The Jeep Avenger 4xe does not have an electric drivetrain, but has the now well-known 136 hp variant of the mild-hybrid 1.2 three-cylinder engine under the hood. That is also interesting: until now, a mild-hybrid Avenger always had the 100 hp variant of that mild-hybrid power source. The mild-hybrid Avenger 4xe has two electric motors that each produce 29 hp. Like every other mild hybrid from Stellantis, it has a six-speed automatic transmission that houses a small electric motor.
Until now, Jeep has always used the designation ‘4xe’ for plug-in hybrid versions of the Compass and Wrangler. It is striking that the Avenger 4xe is a mild hybrid.
Prices and detailed specifications are not yet available. Jeep will open its order books at the end of this year.
