The Jeep Compass has been thoroughly renewed, but strangely enough, that does not really stand out. Jeep gives little publicity and the biggest news is not on the outside, but in the interior. High time to take a closer look at the facelift.
We do not know whether it is awkwardness or policy, but we largely have to scrape the news around the facelifted Jeep Compass ourselves. The car first showed up in China, where cars often differ significantly from what we see in Europe. Later the updated Compass also appeared in our regions, but still in camouflaged trim. We got the first look at a revised Compass in Europe via the official route only last week, but then that news was hidden in news about the much less important 80th Anniversary Editions.
A strange course of events, but the facelift Compass seems to have finally arrived on European territory. On the outside, the changes seem limited, but the sliding plate below shows that a lot has changed. For example, the shape of the headlights is slightly different, especially along the underside. The LED strip for the daytime running light moves from the bottom to the top of the unit.
The front bumper also has a different shape, whereby the center of gravity seems to move upwards. On the plate below we look at the regular nose, the Compass Trailhawk has a different front bumper.
At the rear, the news seems to be limited to more injected elements and perhaps some other color accents, but inside everything has really been overhauled. The complete dashboard is disposed of in the bulky waste and is replaced by a new one. That was necessary, because the existing Compass dashboard did not look very modern. The new model instinctively pushes the model forward for at least ten years. Clean lines, optically fused ventilation grilles and a larger, free-standing screen suddenly make the Jeep interior look very fresh.
We are still dependent on Jeep for hidden changes and news about trim levels, engines and prices, but with the above observations and press photos from India, we can already make a judgment about the visible changes. Vote!
