There is no such thing as saying goodbye
In addition to the very young Jeep Avenger, which is also available as an EV, is there still room for the now aging Renegade? Certainly. In the year that the Jeep Renegade turns ten years old, Jeep is giving the crossover a model year update that mainly brings new features to the interior of the car.
Fiat supplies the 600(e) and the 500X side by side and in a similar manner, Jeep has the Avenger related to the 600 and the Renegade related to the 500X in its showrooms. The Jeep Avenger is by far the most modern of the bunch. It is available with mild-hybrid petrol engines and an electric powertrain and is also on a much younger platform than the Renegade. However, with its length of about 4.08 meters, the Avenger is a size smaller than the Renegade. The latter extends over a distance of 4.23 meters. The Jeep Renegade was presented in Geneva in March 2014 and is blowing out ten candles on its birthday cake this year. The Jeep Renegade apparently has a while to go, as Jeep is now giving the car a model year update that brings some novelties to the model.
For its tenth anniversary, the Jeep Renegade will receive a digital instrument cluster with a diagonal of 10.1 inches. The infotainment system will also be updated. From now on we will find a 10.25-inch screen in the center of the dashboard. You can connect both your iPhone and your Android device wirelessly to Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. Also new: the reversing camera now produces images in HD quality on the screen.
Depending on the market, the new model year Jeep Renegade will be available as a basic Renegade version, as an Altitude, Summit, Overland and as a Trailhawk. The Renegade has always been electrified. The Jeep Renegade is available as a mild-hybrid e-Hybrid and as a 4xe Plug-in Hybrid. We don’t have Dutch prices yet, but they will probably come soon.
