Fashionable set
Do you remember the term ‘PC-Hoofttractor’? This nickname for SUVs has long since fallen out of favor, but with the Jeep Wrangler ‘by Oger’ it is more appropriate than ever.
For those who are not so familiar with the better men’s fashion: Oger is a luxury men’s fashion store with a small number of branches in the Netherlands and Belgium. The most famous of these is on the Pieter Cornelisz. Hooftstraat in Amsterdam, the street from which the SUV derived its now very old nickname ‘PC-Hoofttractor’. All those double-parked X5s and Range Rovers in ‘the PC’ apparently caused quite a bit of annoyance about twenty years ago.
We can dust off the term again, because Oger will come up with two ‘SUVs’ in collaboration with dealer Kien himself. Although the term ‘off-road vehicle’ is more appropriate with the Jeep Wrangler, Oger and Kien do everything they can to prevent buyers from really going off-road with these fashionable Jeeps. That starts with the name of the red copy: Urban Cruiser. Yes, just like that compact crossover with which Toyota was a bit ahead of its time in 2009.
The Urban Cruiser from Oger is equipped with a soft top and distinguishes itself with burgundy red paint that is also poured over the bumpers. That forms a nice contrast with the bronze-colored details and wheels. The interior has been thoroughly overhauled by Cools Bekledingen. It is completely wrapped in ‘Bourbon Beige’ leather and suede, except for the parts that are provided with piano lacquer.
The gray Jeep is called ‘Grand Tourer’, also gets bronze-colored details and has a similar interior. However, it is on different wheels, has a somewhat tougher color and a fixed roof, although it can still be partially opened. It does not stop with these two copies, because the Jeeps ‘by Oger’ can simply be ordered from Kien. A dark red Urban Cruiser costs €132,255, the Grand Tourer is slightly cheaper at €129,889. In all cases you go with a plug-in hybrid, because the Oger-Jeeps are always based on the 4XE version of the Wrangler.
The most striking part of both cars is without a doubt the Oger cover around the spare wheel, in the color of the interior. That will probably work well, there in the PC.
