Sunday evening late and therefore high time for John Vanderaart’s weekly column on pcactive.nl. John is talking about Wouter Koolmees.

I have had a difficult relationship with the Dutch Railways (= Dutch railways) for many years. Until recently I made little use of the train, but I always went wrong with something the highlight (…) Stopping for two hours in full sun between Mariahoeve and Voorschoten. I will not agree on all the times that my train arrived or not has been defined, because that seems to be completely normal! My son, who is commuting up and down from Haarlem to The Hague every day with the Dutch Railways, thinks I should not get excited, because nowadays the car is no longer an alternative. Unfortunately it is just a little too far to my new workplace in Alphen a/d Rijn by bike. At the moment I am the victim of one public transport strike after the other and Haarlem-Leiden and/or Leiden-Alphen a/d Rijn is always flat. And then the NATO summit has to start! But luckily, suddenly there was a sun in my mailbox: “Wouter Koolmees!” The highest boss of the Dutch Railways had special and exclusively for me an apologetic one -to -one message in which he told me about the hat and the edge. You, it’s something with that NS. However, improvement was not promised …
