Endless Fisker legacy
Remember the Fisker Karma? This is it in its latest appearance. At least, the Karma Gyesera must be almost yet another development of the plug-in hybrid GT once sold as Fisker.
Karma Automotive presented the Karma Gyesera this weekend on Amelia Island during the competition of the same name. Feast your eyes on it, because Karma has photographed the Gyesera from various angles and it has certainly become a striking appearance. A somewhat familiar appearance, because the basic shape is unmistakably that of another car from the Karma stable; the Karma Revero. In short, that is the Karma version of the Fisker Karma, which was released in 2008. It seems that this Karma Gyesera still builds on that now ancient basis. At 3.16 m, the wheelbase is still the same as that of the Fisker Karma and that usually says something. The interior also still breathes Fisker Karma, albeit with a more modern sauce.
Not too long ago, Karma Automotive came up with its own creation, the Karma Kaveya. The Karma Gyesera may share technology with this, although Karma does not reveal much technical information yet. The biggest difference with the plug-in hybrid Revero (and with the Fisker Karma) is that the Gyesera is fully electric. The 590 hp Gyesera does 0 to 60 mph (97 km/h) in 4.2 seconds and reaches a top speed of about 217 km/h. According to Karma, the electric driving range is about 400 km. Just like with the Kaveya, that driving range comes from a 120 kWh battery, so the Gyesera is also quite a ‘thirsty’ EV. Nevertheless, Karma CEO Marques McCammon is optimistic: “With its modern look, feel and superior performance, the Gyesera is our bridge to the future; the embodiment of Karma’s renewed corporate direction.” Its price tag is not yet known.
