After years of rumors that Kawasaki is working on a comeback of the Eliminator, Team Green has confirmed the Eliminator for 2024. And immediately released some footage.

At the end of 2020 we already wrote about a possible imminent Eliminator H2, which would have been the fourth model of the Supercharged H2 family after the Ninja H2 and H2R, the Ninja H2 SX and the Z H2. Which would have been completely in the spirit of the original Eliminator.
The very first Eliminator in 1985 had been just such a muscle cruiser. The ZL900 Eliminator was the middle between a power cruiser and a drag racer, which, thanks to its powerful 900 four-in-line with close ratio gearbox and forward-facing seating position, was the king of the traffic light sprints.
Of course Kawasaki denied the comeback of the Eliminator in all tones, until a new Eliminator 400 was unveiled in Japan in March this year and it was immediately rumored that it would not only stay with that Japanese market, but that it would also be available in Japan. other continents would be marketed. As an entry-level model for novice motorcyclists with an A2 driving license.
This turns out to be true, although not quite. The now announced new Eliminator does not have the 398cc parallel twin of the Z400 and Ninja 400 as was done in Japan, but is powered by a new 451cc parallel twin, which according to Kawasaki must deliver strong performance at low revs, but also has to be strong at higher revs. flush. Of course it is suitable for the A2 driving license.
The new urban cruiser features signature cruiser styling with a comfortable, low seat and, as usual with cruisers, a combination of an 18-inch front and 16-inch rear wheel. The Assist & Slipper Clutch provides light clutch operation and prevents the rear wheel from locking up during early downshifts.
As a nod to the earlier Eliminator models, the 2024 model’s “backside” bears a close resemblance to that of its predecessors. The double rear shock absorbers also contribute to the “traditional meets modern” look. The Eliminator offers a natural and relaxed riding position, with a clear view of a fully digital instrument panel for the rider.
The new Eliminator will be available in Metallic Flat Spark Black and Metallic Matte Carbon Gray with Flat Ebony. Full specs and availability will be revealed shortly.
