Kawasaki has rolled out a recall for the 2024 Z900RS, Z900RS SE and Z900RS Café in the United States and Canada. The front tire may not have been manufactured to specifications, which could cause blisters on the inside.

At the end of January 2024, Kawasaki was informed by its supplier Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Ltd., manufacturer of Dunlop tires, among others, of an unusual result during tire testing. Kawasaki Motors, Ltd. (KML) requested the supplier to investigate the issue.
In April, the tire manufacturer reported that a certain production range had not been produced in accordance with FMVSS119. An error occurred during the application of the rubber to the tire sidewalls, which could cause blisters and, in a worst-case scenario, cracks.
KML then decided to roll out a recall for the Z900RS and Z900RS Café, which were produced between July 20, 2023 and January 26, 2024. The front tire will be replaced on the affected units at the Kawasaki dealer. As of January 27, 2024, all tires supplied to KML have been produced in accordance with FMVSS.
The recall only affects the specific production series produced in the above period and equipped with Dunlop tires, units produced before and after do not have this problem. According to a spokesperson for Kawasaki Benelux, the recall does not apply to the Benelux.
