After recently announcing the price of the new ZX-4RR, Kawasaki has now also announced the price of the 2024 ZX-6R. And it is as sharp as a Ninja warrior’s Samurai sword.
The arrival of Euro5 seemed to herald the end of the ZX-6R, but against expectations Kawasaki has adapted the popular 600-Supersport (forward, 600+) to the stricter European emission requirements. And immediately gave it a solid update.
However, it could also have been the other way around, that Team Green gave it a major update and adapted it en passant to the stricter Euro5 emission requirements. Anyway, the result is that after several years of absence, the ZX-6R 636 will make its comeback on the European market as a 2024 model.
In addition to a completely refreshed design with now 3D-layered fairing, equipped with openings to generate more downforce and divert the wind from the rider, and a slanted chin spoiler – also for more downforce, Kawasaki has also made the 636 engine strong addressed.
Kawasaki speaks of a new camshaft profile, new intake cups and an improved manifold and collector. These innovations should have provided more torque in the bottom and midrange, with lower emissions.

At least as important, however, is the use of extensive electronics. The ZX-6R now comes standard with 4 riding modes (Sport, Road, Rain and the adjustable Rider mode), each with their own setting of throttle response and traction control.
As far as the bicycle part is concerned, Kawasaki has not completely turned things upside down, but purely refined. So the same twin spar pressed aluminum frame with aluminum swingarm and fully adjustable Showa suspension, but refined. In terms of braking, the Ninja is fitted with radial Nissin 4-piston calipers with KIBS-ABS.
The cockpit houses the well-known 4.3″ TFT color display with Bluetooth connectivity. In addition to a tachometer with shift indicator and current gear, the display shows a large amount of optional information such as dual trip meters, range, battery voltage and much more.
Vehicle information can be read remotely, as well as maintenance reminders, via the Rideology app. The brightness of the screen automatically switches between three levels depending on the amount of natural light.
The new Ninja ZX-6R will be available from October at the official Kawasaki dealer in Lime Green/Ebony (KRT Edition) and Metallic Graphite Gray/Metallic Diablo Black colours, starting at €13,799. That is only 1,000 euros more than had to be put on the table in 2019 for the previous edition.
