At the Intermot in Cologne, Kawasaki raised the curtain on the first official prototype of the electric-powered line-up, which will be rolled out in the coming years. It gives us an idea the green world will look like according to Kawasaki in a few years.
First seen in action at the Suzuka 8 Hour event, the EV model was part of a comprehensive speech presented by Kawasaki Motors Europe General Manager, Mr Masaya Tsuruno.
Reflecting on the commitment by Kawasaki Motors president Mr Hiroshi Ito to present at least three electric vehicles worldwide by 2022, Tsuruno-San emphasized that the prototype – which was only on display at the press conference – would form the basis of an actual future production machine.
Underlining Kawasaki’s continued commitment to internal combustion engines, Tsuruno added that both E-fuel and Bio-fuel were among the options being considered, alongside the much-reported research into hydrogen as a potential carbon neutral choice.
With its vast in-house resources and experience, Kawasaki says it is well positioned to play a significant role in both the transportation evolution through new and emerging technology, alongside an enviable track record of innovation in the field of internal combustion engines.
And, as Tsuruno-San explained, the company is actively involved in partnerships that are not limited to just the two-wheeled world, but include both automotive and other forward-looking technologies. “We are highly motivated and strongly connected and will continue our research and development,” said Tsuruno-San.
Finally, Tsuruno revealed that the company is committed to further strengthening the Kawasaki brand, offering products and services that meet customer needs, continuing research on carbon neutrality and exploring every opportunity.
