Small and large SUV and pickup

KGM will not only compete in the Dutch EV market with the new Torres EVX. Three other models are planned for the next two years.
KGM is opening its fresh EV offensive in the Netherlands with the reasonably competitively priced KGM Torres EVX, but it will not stop there in the near future. AutoWeek learned at a presentation by the brand that three more models are coming this way in the near future. If all goes well, the first of these is expected at the end of this year, the last at the end of next year. It concerns an electric pick-up, followed by a relatively compact electric SUV and finally a large electric SUV. We secretly saw those three before last year.

The first of the bunch is the production version of the above study model. In short, that is a pick-up based on the Torres EVX. A modern successor to the SsangYong Musso, essentially. Count on a similar drive as the Torres EVX, so at least 207 hp and front-wheel drive, although we wouldn’t be surprised if the pick-up comes on the market as a stronger four-wheel drive variant. We can expect to see this model at the end of this year.

In the second half of next year it will be the turn of the modern SsangYong Korando reincarnation that we see above in concept form. KGM is thus targeting the compact middle class. It is one step below the Torres EVX and logically focuses on the Peugeot e-3008, Volvo EX40 and BMW iX1, among others.

Finally, at the end of next year, if all goes according to plan, it will be the turn of the largest of the bunch. Least is known about this. This KGM, with somewhat Hummer-like facial features, seems to feel particularly at home among fierce (electric or otherwise) off-roaders such as the GMC Hummer or Ford Bronco. With an electric drivetrain, such a car may be more interesting than with a combustion engine because of the bpm in the Netherlands, but this will probably remain the rarest of the three new KGMs.
