Kia comes with digital blind spot mirror

Kia comes with a system with which objects in the blind spot are overlooked. In the instruments of the new Sorento you get to see the blind spot when turning corners or changing lanes.

When turning a corner or changing a lane, you should always look over your shoulder to see if the blind spot is clear. Sometimes a blind spot mirror also offers a solution, but it is rare on passenger cars. To help drivers in a modern way, Kia is now introducing a system called the Blind-Spot View Monitor. This gives you an overview of what happens in the blind spot on the instruments, for extra control.

If you indicate direction while the car notices that there is an object in the blind spot, you will temporarily see the image of the blind spot camera at the location of the tachometer or speedometer. This further warns the driver that turning or changing lanes is a potential hazard. The camera is subtly incorporated at the bottom of the side mirror (Photo 3), so you shouldn’t expect a weird bulge on the doors or mullions. The new Sorento will be the first Kia system on the option list.
