Kia K3 GT refreshed

Last week, Kia pulled the curtain on the facelifted K3, a car that also goes through life as Forte and Cerato and which you can see as the international equivalent of ‘our’ Ceed. Now the GT, the hatchback, is also benefiting from the refresher round.

Kia serves the compact middle segment in the US, home country South Korea and other markets outside Europe with a car that is respectively known as Forte, K3 or Cerato. The sedan version has recently been facelifted (photos 4 and 5) and now the GT follows. As we saw with the sedan, Kia has been busier at the drawing board than is initially visible. In addition to a slightly more tweaked Tigernose grille, the K3 also gets completely new LED headlights that now border directly on the grille. Of course, the bumper work has also been overhauled and red accents have been added next to the air intakes to emphasize the sportier character compared to the sedan. The GT comes with a 207 hp 1.6 T-GDI, an adjusted chassis and better braking as standard.

With the GT, the change at the rear is of course especially interesting, since we already know the new nose from the K3 sedan. Even if we put it next to the pre-facelift K3 GT, we are looking for changes. Most eye-catching are the attachments next to the rear window, which connect to the subtle roof spoiler at the top. As a result, the K3 GT looks just a bit more sporty. The rear lights are now also equipped with LED lighting as standard and the new Kia logo also adorns the GT of course, but otherwise it remains with the well-known.

Incidentally, Kia also sells the K3 in China, but it has a completely different nose than the K3 shown here.
