Kia is preparing the ProCeed for the second round. The sleek ProCeed, referred to by Kia as a ‘shooting brake’, seems to be only subtly addressed.
About three years ago, Kia first unveiled the new Ceed, then the Ceed Sportswagon and finally the ProCeed. Roughly speaking, the ProCeed is the best option for those who want more space than in the regular Ceed, but a bit more flashy than that of the Ceed Sportswagon. It has to be said; Kia put an extremely striking and fresh car on the market with it. Of course, at three years old, the ProCeed is certainly not old enough, but we can say that the design withstands the test of time well. That does not alter the fact that there is a refresher on the schedule.
We do not expect a major facelift, but Kia does everything it can to hide the change as well as possible. Indeed, from what can be seen, we can conclude that the changes will be subtle in nature. At the front you can expect slightly different and possibly sharper shaped headlights and a slightly modified grille. At the back, it looks like the ProCeed will change slightly at the most on a detail level. No doubt we will soon see the Ceed and Ceed Sportswagon wrapped up and well.
Kia ProCeed
The ProCeed is certainly not doing badly in the Netherlands in terms of sales, but it is not really a stunner either. On average, Kia sold about 700 of these in recent years, compared to an average of about 2,500 Ceeds (including Ceed Sportwagon) per year. Maybe the facelift can boost the popularity a bit. We take into account that the facelift round for the various Ceeds will be completed at the end of this year or early next year.
