Photographic evidence: Kia is working on a facelift for the Sorento. The mid-sized SUV appears to have a completely different nose, with Telluride-style vertical headlights.

Wait, the Sorento “medium”? Not in Europe, but in (among others) North America. Above the already quite large Sorento is the Telluride, which offers its maximum seven occupants even more space.

That Telluride also seems to serve as inspiration for the facelift of the Sorento. Under the thick layer of camouflage we believe we see vertical, so high and narrow headlights, of course with LED lighting. This headlight arrangement offers more space for the grille, which will undoubtedly grow considerably in width.

The Telluride.

With vertical headlights, the nose of the Sorento actually fits the butt all the better, which already has upright light units. Nothing essential seems to change, although we can undoubtedly assume a slightly different bumper design and some other detail changes.

It is interesting that the entire rear window pillar of this test car is covered. It is possible that Kia is also planning major changes in this area, although that is unusual for an interim update. The dashboard is also captured by the photographer, but so well covered that it is actually nothing to see.
