When KTM took the RC8R out of production in 2015, the (almost) 200 hp Supersport chapter seemed closed for good. Now Krämer Motorcycles is breathing new life into that segment with a track kit for the KTM 1290 and 1390 Super Duke R.
The kit, developed by German specialist Krämer Motorcycles, turns KTM’s naked powerbike into a full-fledged Superbike with racing rhythm. In the latest evolution, the 1350 cc 1390 Super Duke R delivers no less than 190 hp and an abundance of torque – enough to also impress on the track.
Although it is also super cool to hit the track with a Hypernaked, which is also damn easy thanks to the leverage of the wide handlebars, but on the other hand, riding in the wind puts a considerable strain on your neck muscles. And that’s where the conversion kit comes into the picture.
Central to the kit developed by Krämer Motorcycles is a completely redesigned 22-liter fuel tank that also serves as a seat and butt. This places you closer to the center of gravity, which improves agility and balance. The tank is also equipped with a drain valve that allows quick emptying of the tank, a detail that is invaluable in racing.
Furthermore, the kit, which is suitable for the 1290 and 1390 Super Duke, provides a GRP racing fairing with carbon/Kevlar reinforcement, including Ram-Air system, adjustable CNC footpegs, clip-ons and a track-optimized rear shock link system for more traction and feedback. Assembly remains plug-and-play: all original electronics are retained and the necessary mountings are integrated into the kit.
There are optional extra racing components such as a larger radiator and aerodynamic elements. Krämer is also working on a complete electronics package specifically for track use by 2026. For now, the conversion kit costs €6,990. Complete motorcycles based on the Super Duke 1390 are also planned, according to the manufacturer.
