On paper, Lada is no longer in the hands of a registered owner in the Netherlands. All shares of parent company AvtoVAZ are now in the name of a Russian entity.

You might not think it, but the Russian manufacturer AvtoVAZ, which we know better as the manufacturer of Lada, was for many years in the hands of a private limited company registered in the Netherlands. It concerns Alliance Rostec Auto BV, a partnership between Renault and the Russian Rostec. Since the end of 2018, Renault has managed roughly 67.6 percent of the shares of Alliance Rostec Auto, the remaining 32.4 percent is held by Rostec. As of now, AvtoVAZ has an all-Russian owner.

Rostec reports that all shares of AvtoVAZ have been transferred to a new entity jointly with Renault called Lada Auto Holding and registered in Moscow. With that, it seems over and over for the letterbox company registered in Amsterdam. The distribution of shares between Rostec and Renault remains unchanged. AvtoVAZ is not only a producer of Lada, because the company currently also builds the Renault (Dacia) Logan and Sandero and until 2020 also the Datsun on-D0 and mi-Do.

Lada is currently building the Granta. Vesta, X-Ray, Largus, Niva Travel and Niva Legend.
